69 weeks agoAmazon S3 pricing changes

Amazon has changed the pricing of S3, upload bandwidth is two times cheaper now ($0.10/GB) and downloads are slightly cheaper too ($0.18/GB). There are however additional charges for every request ($0.01 per 1'000 PUT or 10'000 GET requests). This additional cost in negligible to S3 Backup users because it uses very few requests to do its thing and uses extensive caching too (better than you expect, probably). In other news a new beta is a little late this time as I'm also working on a few related and unrelated projects that take up all of my time. More on that in a separate entry.
