93 weeks agoS3 Backup, Beta 5. Getting things done.

A little more than a week after the last release, Beta 5 is out. I almost completed the downsync code but decided to release it sooner because there's some buzz about the app and there are enough changes to justify the release.

• New UI for Backup jobs, you can also rename and delete the jobs now
• Better reporting of upload progress for compressed files
• More internal changes that will kick in with some scheduled features (I won't spoil which ones, and I'm myself impressed by them, just wait)
• Splash screen (part of the initiated redesign).

• Other big news are that Mac version could happen sometime soon. We'll see. (Also take the poll a the bottom of this post)
• Fixed: actions coudn't be canceled in beta 4, it was infinite loop of "Are you sure?" -- "Yes, yes, yes dammit!". A pretty stupid bug to have.
• Surely more, I don't remember at the moment

If you take into account that this week I spent a lot of time designing an upcoming website with my friend, creating the foundations of another product and generally had a life (I did!), then it's a nice week full of work. My advice to "Get Things Done" is forget the self-help books and just get things done, by actually doing them, duh!
