129 weeks agoS3 Manager on hold, Amazon S3 Backup is coming

Since the time I announced the S3 Manager many people contacted me to become beta-testers. Thank you everyone! I got into a few insightful conversations and discovered that there's a strong demand for a backup solution based on Amazon S3. I've planned to do it next, when the S3 Manager is done, but after all that mail I reconsidered. So S3 Backup is coming first and S3 Manager will be a kind of "developer edition" of it. I've got most of it worked out and public beta is due this month. There's a number of different business models that might work out and I'm still not sure which one to pick. So next time I'll ask for feedback on this matter from the readers. One of the options is to make it sponsored open-source, so if you think you might be a sponsor -- contact me now.
